This is a Full-Time, 1st-Shift, Monday-Friday position!
OverviewWe are seeking an Infection Control Preventionist to lead infection prevention efforts, monitor compliance with guidelines, and collaborate with leadership to maintain a safe care environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities- Infection Control Monitoring and Compliance:
Collect, analyze, and maintain infection data for residents and employees; ensure compliance with CDC guidelines; and coordinate with Health Department during outbreaks. Monitor infection control practices, track statistics, and perform periodic audits. - Policy Development and
Education:
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DoN) to develop infection control policies and procedures; provide education on infection control; maintain active membership in infection control organizations such as APIC. - Quality Assurance and Staff Support:
Conduct facility walk-throughs to evaluate care quality; participate in clinical assessments of new residents; help managers ensure adherence to departmental policies; support staff through continuous education and monitoring of care standards. - Administrative and Leadership Duties:
Assist with admissions, assessments, and resident care; participate in budget development, departmental meetings, and facility committees; provide leadership to the nursing department; advocate for residents and staff. - Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
Follow all safety, infection control, and hazardous materials policies to ensure the safety of residents and staff; engage in activities that support the facility’s mission and uphold its policies, procedures, and philosophy.
- An active, valid RN license with the State of Wisconsin
- Experience:
One year of infection prevention experience within a hospital or nursing home; knowledge of nursing home rules and regulations. - Ability to understand and apply geriatric and restorative nursing principles along with knowledge of State and Federal regulations/guidelines affecting long-term care including OBRA.
