36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts:

Every third weekend rotation, 50% holiday rotation

Stroke/ACE Med/Surg West Allis Medical Center, Wi. USA Where you will work:

5 South:
Stroke ACE Med/Surg is a 34 inpatient acute care Med/Surg unit caring for a wide variety of diagnosis including Stroke, Seizures, Neuro focus, Diabetes, Electrolyte imbalance, Kidney Disease, Mental Health, Dementia, Alzheimer’s. This is an excellent unit to build a neurological focus, foundational skills, become certified in the specialty of Med/Surg and develop specialized skills applicable to any area in nursing.

  • Skill Mix: equal mix of new graduates and experienced team staff

  • Typical RN to Patient Ratio:
    Days: 1:4-5, Nights: 1:5-6

What we are looking for:
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

  • New RN’s and Experienced RN’s WELCOME!
What you will do:
  • Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.

  • Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.

  • Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.

  • Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.

  • Be a valued member of a highly skilled, resilient, and versatile nursing team committed to ensuring the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare to diverse patient populations.

Schedule:
  • Self-scheduling: 6-week schedules

  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00 am to 7:30 pm

  • Every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation
