General Description

Under the direction of the Electrical Manager, the Traveling Master Electrician will complete all electrical work as instructed. This includes maintenance and production electrical work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be sure you and those around you are working safely.
  • Help drive and support BCT’s culture and core values.
  • Layout and install wiring circuits in conformance with established codes.
  • Use hand and power tools properly.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to wire machines and panels.
  • Work in a team atmosphere with assembly and engineering teams.
  • Have good communication skills and interact well with others.
  • Move, push, pull, or lift moderately heavy objects.
  • Work at heights, climb and work on ladders, scissor lifts, and articulating lifts.
  • Proficient in conduit bending. EMT, RMC. IMC a plus.
  • Build quality panels with an eye toward detail.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in house and in the field of new and used equipment.
  • Read electrical machine drawings and schematics.
  • Travel within the U.S. 25% of the time, including in state, out of state, and overnight travel. Travel premium added.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strong organization skills.
  • Qualifications
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Use of common hand tools and power tools.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Clean driving record within the last 3-5 years.
    • Comfortable with overnight and out of state travel.
    • Electrical wiring and conduit knowledge, and strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organization.
    • Proficient in conduit bending; EMT, RMC. IMC a plus.
    • Read electrical machine drawings and schematics.
    • Willing to work at customer sites that may be dirty or hot/cold.
    • Basic computer skills.
    Education and/or Experience
    • Journeyman or Master’s license.
    • Five to seven years of related experience, or
    • Ten to twelve years of progressively responsible related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with PLCs, control systems, and root cause analysis is not required.
