We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Nursing Secretary to support our nursing department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting and enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with coordination of resident services.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate's degree preferred.

  • At least 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare setting required.

  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

  • Experience with electronic medical records (Point Click Care  experience preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and audit resident records using the electronic medical record system.

  • Prepare reports, correspondence, forms, and other administrative documents.

  • Process requests for medical record copies in accordance with facility policies.

  • Organize and maintain nursing office files, supplies, and invoices.

  • Assist with documentation related to admissions, discharges, transfers, and other resident records.

  • Monitor electronic records for outstanding physician orders and required signatures.

  • Verify information for insurance providers and other authorized entities.

  • Coordinate and arrange transportation for resident medical appointments, including scheduling services, maintaining related documentation, and communicating with transportation providers and clinical staff.

  • Answer and direct telephone calls for the nursing department.

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Nursing and nursing leadership.

  • Assist with departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned.
