Position: Commercial Suppression Systems Technician (Kitchen Hood)

Compensation: $20.00–$35.00 per hour (flexibility available for highly experienced candidates)

Summary

Our client is seeking a Commercial Suppression Systems Technician with hands‑on experience servicing kitchen hood fire suppression systems. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys working independently, troubleshooting complex systems, and delivering exceptional service in commercial kitchen and restaurant environments. Candidates must be flexible with work schedules to accommodate restaurant and kitchen operating hours.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, inspect, test, service, and maintain commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems
  • Diagnose system issues and perform repairs as needed
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FDNY codes, NFPA standards, company procedures, and OSHA regulations
  • Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors, and team members
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in proper working condition
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while performing field service work
What You Bring
  • 2 years of hands‑on experience working with commercial kitchen hood suppression systems
  • Experience with Ansul suppression systems
  • FDNY Certificate of Fitness S‑17 (required)
  • OSHA 30 Certification (required)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on restaurant and commercial kitchen schedules
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in commercial kitchens or restaurant environments
  • Additional experience servicing, inspecting, and maintaining fire suppression systems
