Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in West Bend, Wisconsin. This role involves organizing and preparing tax documents for clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and software, along with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

- Guide clients through the tax preparation process, providing clear explanations and support.

- Collect and organize financial records, including income statements and pay stubs, for accurate reporting.

- Enter financial data into tax preparation software or databases with precision.

- Apply current federal, state, and local tax laws to calculate deductions and determine tax liabilities or refunds.

- Prepare and file tax documents with relevant agencies, ensuring all submissions are timely and accurate.

- Represent clients in communications with tax authorities when necessary.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster trust and business growth.

- Utilize Drake Tax Software to streamline the tax preparation process.

- Ensure all paperwork and documentation are completed and processed efficiently. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Tax Preparer or in a related role.

- Proficiency in Drake Tax Software or similar tax preparation tools.

- Strong understanding of personal tax regulations and compliance.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.

- Effective communication skills to explain complex tax concepts to clients.

- Capability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.

- Familiarity with filing procedures and tax agency protocols.
