General AccountabilityThe Technical Writer position completes development and maintenance of documentation, both written and digital, with guidance from Technical Communication Project Managers. General duties include developing and verifying full documents, completing editing reviews, and supporting critical functions within the Technical Communication Team. The Technical Writer reports to the Technical Publications Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities- Creates individual procedures and orders procedures effectively to complete a full manual.
- Identifies and completes illustrations and other images to complete procedures and documents.
- Completes editing of full documents, including those written by other writers and departments, with a full understanding of all styles and standards.
- Publishes documents into various locations.
- Completes complex research and verification, working with subject matter experts throughout the organization.
- Identifies, manages, incorporates, and publishes content provided by translators and other outside services.
- Manages full documents, including content provided by other writers.
- Manages projects with global counterparts.
- Assists in management of large‑scale projects.
- Consistently focuses on customer satisfaction.
- 1+ years of experience preferred in Technical Communication
- Experience in both communication and a technical field
- Hands‑on field experience is a plus
- Experience with and understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software suite.
- Experience with and understanding of Google software suite.
- Experience with and understanding of PLM and ERP systems.
- Experience with and understanding of CAD/PIM systems.
- Experience with and understanding of Content Management Systems and coding is a plus.
- Experience with video and visual instruction is a plus.
- Experience with AI and translation is a plus.
- Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including confident communication with superiors and peers.
- Organized planning for managing daily tasks and long‑term projects, with effective time management.
- Ability to distinguish between crucial and trivial tasks, with effective prioritization of daily and weekly activities.
- Project management and continuous improvement experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication or Engineering
- Fluency in English. French is a plus.
- Technical communications colleagues overseas.

- Service, parts, and training support personnel.
- Legal, marketing, and other subject matter experts.
- Sales and product management team members.
- Parts/OEM vendor contacts.
- Translation, service procedure, and print vendors.
- Dealer network and end users.

- Base Salary Range between $56,000 – $88,000 per year, plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
- Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location
- This position can be located out of West Bend, Wisconsin, Madison, South Dakota or Yankton, South Dakota
- Travel Requirements – There could be potential travel opportunities depending on the level of the position to include occasional visits to our plants in South Dakota, corporate office in Wisconsin, global corporate office in France or our partners in India
