Production Supervisor Responsibilities:- Provide clear direction, set performance expectations and drive accountability
- Lead employee recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching and performance management
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, attendance and performance matters
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including labor agreements if applicable
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet established schedules and customer demand
- Assign personnel and monitor workflow to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Track production metrics and adjust staffing or processes as needed
- Ensure equipment is operating properly and coordinate maintenance when necessary
- Maintain adherence to lean manufacturing and cost control principles
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices
- Participate in safety initiatives and corrective action efforts
- Ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications
- Partner with Quality teams to address and resolve production issues
- Reinforce quality expectations through communication and performance monitoring
- Ensure employees are properly trained on safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Support cross-training efforts to enhance team flexibility and efficiency
- Utilize visual management tools and daily communication methods to drive performance
- Monitor daily staffing levels and adjust assignments based on production needs
- Collaborate with other departments to balance resources and maintain workflow
- Drive initiatives to improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiency
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and improvement efforts
- Support implementation of systems and processes that enhance performance and reduce waste
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- 3-5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Experience in a union environment preferred
- Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Solid time management and organizational abilities
- Basic computer proficiency
