Substitute Teacher

Our Lady of Refuge Catholic School is seeking to fill the position with a candidate that is a team player possessing flexibility and an unwavering commitment to students' academic and spiritual development.

The teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment. Substitute Teachers support the mission of the school and consistently exercise discretion and judgment in providing support when teachers or aides are absent from school.

• Providing coverage for absent teachers
• Working to ensure students are able to meet learning goals
• Delivering lesson plans as appropriate
• Supervising students throughout the school day
• Monitoring and maintaining regular class attendance
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

Minimum of 90 college credits, valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred Experience working with children in a school setting, preferred Ability to maintain a well-managed, positive learning environment Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills Criminal history background check and Protecting God's Children training required
