Job Summary
Our client, a leading fleet operation based in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their dynamic team.
Position:
Full-time HGV Technician
Salary: £45,000 basic salary, with opportunities for additional earnings.

- Perform routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently
- Conduct vehicle inspections, health checks, and road tests
- Execute preventative maintenance to meet DVSA standards and compliance
- Utilise diagnostic equipment for accurate fault identification and rectification
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring fleet compliance
- Carry out engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical repairs
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and service history
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to maximise vehicle uptime and operational efficiency
- Communicate repair findings and recommended actions clearly to management
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- Proven experience working on HGVs, LGVs, or commercial vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities
- Excellent technical knowledge of modern commercial vehicle systems
- Full UK Driving Licence; HGV licence desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proactive approach to maintenance and problem‑solving
