JOB DESCRIPTIONAn excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle dealership based in Tipton.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles to a high standard while working as part of an experienced workshop team.
This is a strong opportunity for a Level 3 qualified HGV Technician looking to join a reputable main dealer environment with good training, overtime potential and long-term career development.
Your responsibilities will include:- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Preparing vehicles for MOT
- Completing vehicle safety inspections and checks
- Ensuring all repairs are completed safely and to required standards
- Completing job cards, paperwork and maintenance records accurately
- Maintaining up-to-date technical and product knowledge
- Following all Health & Safety, environmental and workshop procedures
- Attending technical training when required
45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Early Shift: 07:00 – 16:30
Late Shift: 09:30 – 19:00
Alternate Saturday mornings are also required and paid at the overtime rate.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCETo be considered for this position, you should have:
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent HGV technical qualification
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, Truck Technician or HGV Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
- A full and valid UK manual driving licence
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
