Job Title Professional Math Tutor - Keokuk Campus

Job Description

The Professional Mathematics Consultant (Tutor) will meet with students to provide students with Math Tutoring services on the Keokuk Campus, under the supervision of the Learning Resources Coordinator.

Job Description:

* 12-16 hours per week, scheduled Monday-Thursday from 9am to 3 pm.

* This position runs with the SCC Academic Calendar for Fall & Spring semesters. This position would begin ASAP, run through May, & return in August for the  Academic Year.

* Pay rate is $19 per hour. These positions are part-time hourly positions, and are not eligible for SCC benefits

* Tutoring sessions run 50 minutes beginning on the hour.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Associate's Degree with sufficient collegiate Math coursework & ability to assist students with Math coursework through Calculus I.

* Excellent customer service skills required.

A copy of unofficial transcripts must be sent as well.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Math

* Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students

* Experience working as a Math Tutor or in a Tutoring Center

* Experience working with adult learners

* Base-level technology knowledge
