Job Description
The Professional Science Consultant (Tutor) will meet with students to provide students on the Keokuk Campus Tutoring services for Anatomy & Physiology, as well as Microbiology. The ideal candidate would be able to Tutor in Chemistry as well. This position falls under the supervision of the Learning Resources Coordinator.
Job Description:
* 12-16 hours per week, scheduled Monday-Thursday from 9am to 3 pm.
* This position runs with the SCC Academic Calendar for Fall & Spring semesters. This position would begin ASAP, run through May, & return in August for the Academic Year.
* Pay rate is $19 per hour. These positions are part-time hourly positions, and are not eligible for SCC benefits
* Tutoring sessions run 50 minutes beginning on the hour.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Associate's Degree with sufficient collegiate coursework in the Science, & ability to assist students with Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, & potentially Chemistry coursework.
* Excellent customer service skills required.
A copy of unofficial transcripts must be sent as well.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Human Health & Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Nursing, Kinesiology, or related filed of study.
* Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students
* Experience working as a Science Tutor or in a Tutoring Center
* Experience working with adult learners
* Base-level technology knowledge
