Description:

Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance.
A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment.
This test must be passed in order to work on our telemetry/med surge unit.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members.
Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.
Provides high-quality care to geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry patient populations.
The unit has staffing ratios currently at 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights for medical/surgical.
Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights.
Floating is a requirement for any non-critical care inpatient units, including to the emergency department if there are boarded patients.
If the traveler has critical care experience, occasional floating to critical care units may occur.
Every other weekend rotation is required.
Cerner EMR is used for documentation.
