Job Overview

Minimum Hiring Wage:
From $90,064.00 a year.

The position is responsible for configuring, modifying, testing, and maintaining Epic and other clinical applications. This role involves building collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical department users, and other corporate departments to facilitate system usage and acceptance. The analyst handles complex build and configuration tasks, resolves advanced issues, provides support to ensure reliable application system availability and performance, and designs, verifies, documents, refactors software configurations, investigates and resolves application issues, develops and executes test plans, evaluates design options, and ensures incidents are handled according to procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and optimize clinical workflows to ensure Epic EHR features align with the organization’s processes, improving efficiency and reducing pain points.
  • Gather requirements and feedback from physicians, nurses, IT staff, and other stakeholders to align system usage with clinical and organizational goals.
  • Configure and customize the Epic system—including setting up templates, order sets, and other features specific to the organization.
  • Monitor system performance, manage upgrades, and maintain Epic with the latest versions, including patching and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Provide technical support and resolve issues in the Epic EHR system, collaborating with IT teams to address downtime or user errors.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA by enforcing security protocols, mandating data privacy, overseeing user access control, and audit logging.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, stay up-to-date with the latest Epic features and healthcare technology trends, and recommend and implement best practices for improved system efficiency.
  • Test new features, updates, and system changes—including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing—to guarantee they meet clinical needs.
  • Deliver training to clinical staff and users, develop training materials, conduct sessions, and provide ongoing user support.
  • Maintain accurate Epic data for clinical decision-making and mandatory reporting; develop reports to track outcomes, performance metrics, and quality.
  • Work onsite during the implementation of Epic and optionally support future hybrid deployment.
Qualifications
  • Required: Epic certification in at least one module, or the willingness to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience with clinical, operational, or financial workflows related to the supported module.
  • 1–3 years of experience in healthcare IT or clinical operations.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
