Maintenance Tech

Wage: $25.00-$30.00 per hour |

6:00am-4:30pm (Mon-Thurs) |

QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Tech position available at a company in West Burlington, IA. This is a direct hire position with 1st shift available.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on various equipment using maintenance requests, prints, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment, facility systems, and environmental support systems.
  • Conduct general building maintenance, including cleaning, minor electrical work, plumbing repairs, and fixing broken items.
  • Maintain equipment by removing defective parts and adjusting functional components as needed.
  • Assist with installation of machinery and equipment using plant schematics, wiring diagrams, precision measuring tools, and equipment manuals.
  • Follow all company and OSHA-required training, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Hot Work procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for equipment, machinery, facilities, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Contribute to team success by performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with and troubleshooting PLC systems (required).
  • Ability to interpret maintenance documents, manuals, prints, and diagrams.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repair skills.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and basic maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to comply with all required safety training and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
