LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support high-volume invoice processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of obligations. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to maintain strong financial controls and support overall accounting operations. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $24 and $28/hr.
Job Duties- Process a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely entry into the accounting system
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts to verify completeness and accuracy
- Review and reconcile vendor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies or missing documentation
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and respond to inquiries
- Maintain vendor records, including onboarding new vendors and verifying required documentation
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs (check, ACH, or wire), ensuring proper approvals are obtained
- Monitor shared AP inbox and prioritize urgent items for resolution
- Reconcile accounts payable and assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting
- Support audit requests, including providing documentation and schedules as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency
- Assist with additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
