Staff Accountant II

Job Description

Our client, a growing and well‑established general contracting organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant II to join its accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with at least two years of experience who is pursuing a CPA and looking to grow toward a Senior Accountant role.

Location: West Chester, OH

Job Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post recurring and standard journal entries
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations in Black Line
• Support intercompany transactions and multi‑entity accounting activities
• Perform budget‑to‑actual variance analysis and research account fluctuations
• Assist with month‑end close, audit preparation, and external auditor requests
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of assigned accounting processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience; public accounting busy season experience will be considered
• CPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Solid analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience with Black Line and ERP systems is a plus
