Position: Inventory & Planning Manager (United States)
Location: Olde West Chester

The Inventory & Planning Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic inventory plans that align with demand forecasts, promotional calendars, and marketplace requirements across Amazon, Tik Tok Shop, Shopify, and other sales channels. This role ensures finished goods inventory levels are optimized through data-driven forecasting, disciplined purchase order timing, and proactive inventory health management, including expiry monitoring and risk mitigation.

This role requires strong experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, with a deep understanding of high-volume SKU management, shelf-life constraints, regulatory considerations, and rapid demand fluctuations typical of health, wellness, and supplement products.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in eCommerce supply planning within fast-moving CPG environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Here’s a version with key competencies, CPG-critical elements, and high-impact actions bolded for emphasis in job postings:

  • Analyze historical sales, marketing forecasts, and trends to project future demand by SKU and channel.
  • Translate demand forecasts into time-phased inventory replenishment plans.
  • Create production schedules aligned with lead times, shelf-life constraints, and launch timelines.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels across all sales channels while accounting for platform-specific constraints.
  • Monitor sales velocity and inventory health to trigger timely replenishment and prevent stockouts or overstock.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure inventory readiness for campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
  • Track batch numbers and expiry dates and implement FEFO-based strategies for short-dated or at-risk inventory.
  • Partner with Production, Customer Service, 3PLs, and warehouse teams to ensure execution aligns with inventory plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for production readiness and inventory availability inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate planning dashboards and generate reports highlighting key inventory metrics and risks.
  • Continuously improve planning processes, models, and tools to support scale and CPG complexity.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities or systems to enhance forecasting and planning accuracy.
  • Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the VP of Operations to enable seamless operations and business growth.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain management within a CPG environment (required).
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-SKU, fast-moving consumer goods with shelf-life considerations and demand variability.
  • Experience with supplements, health, or wellness products is a strong advantage.
  • Deep familiarity with Amazon Seller Central, Tik Tok Shop, and Shopify inventory workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, including building dashboards, models, and automated tools.
  • Strong understanding of CPG inventory metrics and planning best practices (e.g., weeks of supply, inventory turnover, FEFO, batch tracking).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., 3PLs, co-packers).
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Customer Service, Logistics, Production, and Marketing teams.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Must be available to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
