Job Overview
The Engineering Technician supports the Process Execution Team (PET) to deliver manufacturing performance in line with the manufacturing plan. The role requires leading technical troubleshooting for all equipment used within the PET, identifying and implementing process improvement projects as a technical expert, and interacting with Operators, PET Engineers, Area Leaders, Validation, PMO and Quality.
Responsibilities- Use a variety of tools, testing and measuring equipment to complete emergency repairs, corrective repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems used within the PET.
- Utilize problem‑solving and troubleshooting techniques to complete equipment repairs.
- Monitor equipment and/or systems for performance and problem indicators.
- Analyze data trends to identify root causes, solutions and improvements.
- Support deviation investigations.
- Assist in the development of project justification and engineering proposals for capital planning.
- Participate in new equipment design, providing input for user requirements, specifications and documentation needed for qualification.
- Serve as a project resource to install new equipment, oversee retrofits and upgrades, and assist with executing validation protocols.
- Lead continuous process improvement efforts: changeover reduction, yield improvement, OEE improvements, maintenance reliability and waste reduction.
- Lead investigations and studies with little supervision.
- Train others on systems, software, equipment, machines, procedures and processes.
- Provide leadership, development and mentoring for others.
- Interface with PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, servers, databases, data historians, visualization and other automation equipment.
- Support PLC, IO and vision program troubleshooting; implement new PLC/HMI code and maintain data integrity.
- Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment, systems and facilities without supervision.
- Perform work in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, OSHA requirements and established safety procedures.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Day Shift: 6:00am – 6:30pm with a 2‑days‑on, 2‑days‑off, 3‑days‑on, 3‑days‑off rotation. Overtime and on‑call support may be required.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience in a regulated production environment, responsible for equipment maintenance and performance.
- Strong written, verbal and reading skills in English.
- Knowledge of ladder logic and PLC/HMI programming.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP.
- Ability to complete documentation and work‑order functions.
- Compliance with MRO procedures for inventory control.
- Physical ability to lift and handle equipment change parts, tooling and materials.
- Capacity to work with minimal supervision under the guidance of lead facilitators or engineers.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, drawings and schematics.
- Willingness to wear gowning, sterile garments and PPE as required.
- High‑school graduate, vocational school graduate, associate’s degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent mechanical trade school graduate.
- Experience with automated equipment.
- Training in mechanics, hydraulics, electronics and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with OEE, TPM, LEAN or other continuous improvement systems.

The compensation range for this position is $28.50–$46.50 per hour, depending on location, experience and qualifications.
