Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
West Chester, OH
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for hands‑on, day‑to‑day site activities assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company’s EHS programs for employees and contractors on site.
Responsibilities- Engage all employees to help the site embrace the Path to Zero safety strategy and achieve zero Significant Injuries or Fatalities (SIFs)
- Learn and live PBM principles and use that personal growth to improve the site culture
- Lead continuous improvement in the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs for the site
- Participate in the case management process for, and response to, any site incidents and injuries
- Plan, schedule, and manage compliance systems projects as assigned, including inspections and sampling
- Work with the site EHS Manager to ensure environmental compliance requirements are met
- Fulfill compliance system owner (CSO) responsibilities for specific safety areas, ownership areas to be determined
- Conduct educational classes for employees, contractors, and guests as needed
- Work with Hummingbird leadership to develop and execute the compliance plan, leading monthly reviews of the plan
- Update Hummingbird leadership weekly on safety KPIs
- Ensure awareness of any safety gaps and assist Hummingbird leadership to close those gaps
- Seek a thorough understanding among Hummingbird employees of the safety vision and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP)
- Own the execution of the EHS criteria in Hummingbird for GP’s Blue Diamond audit
- Degree in related field (bachelor’s or associate’s) OR equivalent EHS experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing or similar environment
- Experience handling hazardous materials and health/safety situations
- Three (3) or more years of EHS experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment
- Experience with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements
- Experience in public speaking and facilitating EHS training classes
