We currently have openings in our offices in West Chester, OH and Louisville, KY for Site Civil Engineers!
The Staff Civil Engineer will provide technical leadership to project teams who will be working on planning, evaluation, design and implementation of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will lead the study-phase and/or design-phase of projects related to the civil, environmental, construction and industrial fields. The Staff Civil Engineer would regularly have interaction with employees outside of their department, regularly have interaction with clients, occasionally interact with the public (agencies, government entities, etc.),
and rarely participate in selling to clients. The staff civil engineer is expected to manage assigned co-ops/interns, while being an example of professional presence, representing the Company and the department in a positive light, and have intermediate level of software knowledge of at least two (2) engineering software packages. This role is notrequiredto havea
Professional Engineering license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consultswithandprovidesguidanceto project stakeholders andmanagerialstaffregardingengineering requirements for construction of various designs, and modifications.
- Usesdesignsoftwareanddrawingtoolstoaccuratelyrenderandcommunicate designs;plansand designs other necessary improvement related to type of project assigned.
- Sets design specificationsbycomputingappropriate engineering requirements (i.e.
-water flow rates, traffic demand, earth work balance, etc.). - Plansprojectsbasedontheanalysisofrelevantmaterialssuchasdrawings,blueprints,aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
- Drafts and presents reports ontopics relatedto projects suchasdetention reportsandengineering due diligence reports.
- Perform calculations for materials, equipment, andlabor needed to determine probable construction cost.
- Collaborateswitharchitects,contractors,andotherengineerstoensureprojectsprogressproperly.
- Collaborates with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
- Monitorsprojectprogressandensuresdesignspecificationsandstandardsaremet.

- Intermediatelevelofunderstandingofdesigntoolsandcivilengineeringpractices.
- Fundamentaldesignofprojectsforsites.

Qualifications,
Education and Experience:
- Civil Engineering Degree (orrelated)
- Minimum2consecutiveyearsof Civil Engineering experience
- Public speakingability,desired
- Executebasicdesignprojectsfromstartto finishastheprimarydesigneroftheproject.
- Develop baseline knowledge of state and local regulations
Required Skill and Abilities:
- Basicunderstandingofcivilengineeringprinciples,practices,andtools.
- Proficientincomputer-assisted design(CAD) andotherdesign,data recording,andanalyzationsoftware.
- Basic understanding of materials, methods, andtoolsinvolved in the construction orrepair ofsiteand transportation infrastructure improvements.
- Abilitytoidentifyandsolve complex problems.
- Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.
- Abilitytobebothcreativeandanalytical.
- Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
