The Consumer Banker will work with existing FFB clients and prospect for new FFB clients to deepen client relationships by booking business directly and, when appropriate, referring to internal business partners such as Mortgage, Wealth, Small Business Banker Commercial, and Treasury Management.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities- Perform necessary functions to open accounts and conduct maintenance.
- Run a Teller drawer as deemed necessary by management.
- Support client engagement through active calling, client conversations, and follow‑up.
- Engage in daily activities aligned with The First Financial Bank Experience, including collaboration with constituencies, ensuring timely client follow‑up calls, and maintaining all operational and risk management standards.
- Assist clients in transacting business within the branch, drive‑thru, by phone, and email.
- Model behavior for peers and coworkers aligned with First Financial’s Mission and Values.
- Adhere to all compliance and regulatory procedures.
- Track, report, and communicate business results and activities to the FCM Partner.
- Partner with District Specialists to execute retail strategies that attract, retain, and grow core client relationships, fulfill client financial needs, and provide a First Class Client Experience.
- Act as a client’s personal trusted advisor by applying the First Client Conversation Model.
- Participate and lead in the First Financial Bank Experience through active involvement in site center huddles and meetings to support sales and service activities.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales, service, and referral goals set by management, collaborating with the District and various lines of business.
- Provide digital assistance and service for clients establishing or needing support with the bank’s online offerings.
- Assist branch team, FCM, and other District leaders in sharing knowledge, onboarding newer associates, solving staffing challenges, and contributing to the overall improvement of the District/Region.
- Stay informed and up‑to‑date on all bank products, processes, and procedures, especially those that are most complex.
- 3-4 years of client experience and retail banking.
- Demonstrated success with consultative, needs‑based selling.
- Strong product knowledge related to consumer and commercial deposits, investments, consumer loans, business loans, and treasury management.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with consumer and small business credit.
- Strong product knowledge of the consumer and commercial suite of products and services.
- Occasionally lifts and carries up to 20 lbs.
- Frequently lifts and carries up to 10 lbs.
- Occasionally walks.
- Frequently sits, stands, and drives.
The associate is responsible for meeting all compliance requirements imposed on First Financial Bank by State and Federal law and regulation, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti‑Money Laundering, OFAC and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements, and all other lending and deposit compliance requirements.
Pay Scale$18.00 - $20.67/hr
