Responsibilities

Berkley Aspire is searching for a Premium Auditor to join the team in Scottsdale, AZ, West Chester, OH, or Glen Allen, VA offices. We are looking for someone highly motivated, organized, positive, with a natural drive to learn, grow and problem solve.

  • Complete and finalize internal mail audits by obtaining needed information directly from insureds by mail and phone. Create audit spreadsheets detailing correct exposures for all classifications by reviewing federal and state payroll reports, financial statements, and other payroll and sales reporting documents to aid in meeting unit production goals. Request additional documentation from insureds when necessary.
  • Review dispute information received from general agents, insureds, or producers contesting an audit after it has been sent out for billing. Decide if dispute information is valid to warrant a revision. Communicate directly with insureds and their representatives to resolve audit disputes and premium due to the Company.
  • Process and review audits in Direct Collections.
  • Communicate with Underwriting and external customers regarding exposures, classification changes, or general auditing procedure questions and results.
  • Act as backup to associate auditors to include completing vendor and estimated audits as needed.
  • Interact with team members to encourage and foster a positive work environment.
  • Participate with team on workflow efficiencies.
  • Complete special projects assigned by management and perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • College degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or 3 years insurance‑related experience or training to include basic knowledge of insurance policy and premium transactions preferred.
  • APA, AIS, AAI, ASLI, CPCU or other insurance related classes recommended but not required.
  • Strong customer service background in a professional environment.
  • Excess and Surplus lines background is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the Bureau rating process, including proper application of ISO rules and policy issuance procedures.
  • Ability to create audit spreadsheets and understand federal and state payroll reports, financial statements, and other payroll and sales reporting documents.
  • Basic proficiency with computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and Email.
