Charge Nurse (RN), Med Surg, Full Time, Days

UC Health is hiring a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for the 5 th Floor Med Surg unit at West Chester Hospital.

The Med Surg Charge Nurse will support West Chester Hospital’s Surgical Med Surg unit at our Level III Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures. This unit is a total of 36 beds with ratios ranging from 4 to 6 patients per nurse. Our nurses help with a variety of patient needs with med surg and telemetry.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Associate’s Degree, minimum required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current OH RN License
• At least one year of nursing experience required; previous additional clinical.
• BCLS required prior to patient contact. ACLS telemetry and certification(s) specific to medical/surgical, orthopedic, critical care or gerontological nursing desired.
• Membership in a professional organization is desirable, but not required.

• The RN effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication and maintains confidentiality.
• The RN demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth.
• The RN demonstrates the ability to accept and implement change, as well as the ability to work in a culturally diverse setting.
• The RN demonstrates ongoing competency in clinical performance for age-related care, growth and development needs, treatment protocols and psychosocial needs of patients, with the primary focus on adult and geriatric patients.
