Harmon, Inc. The Safety Coordinator role ensures a safe work environment, reduces risks, and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The coordinator oversees safety protocols, monitors workplace conditions, and trains employees on safety standards.
Position Description- Adhere to safety policies, programs, and procedures that comply with applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Provide safety training for new employees and refresher courses for existing employees.
- Lead safety planning for project mobilization, including preparation of site‑specific safety plans, incident response binders, medical response kits, and other required documentation.
- Own and develop onsite safety culture, verifying completion of safety initiatives and enforcing Harmon policies and standards.
- Conduct corporate safety audits, review results with onsite leaders, and ensure corrective actions are addressed.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of safety inspections, accident investigations, employee training, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate safety equipment and supplies with the Safety Manager and onsite leaders, ensuring proper inspection and documentation.
- Serve as an employee resource, acting as a frontline intermediary for safety questions and directing employees to appropriate resources.
- Evaluate and minimize unique risks, collaborating with onsite leaders to review scope and methods for best safety practices.
- Track and report on safety performance metrics such as accident frequency rates, near‑miss incidents, and program participation.
- Facilitate learning and development by participating in orientation processes and managing safety training for operating units.
- Manage incident reporting and investigations, working with onsite teams to determine root causes and follow up on corrective actions.
- Build and maintain client relationships with project site safety representatives, ensuring needs and expectations are met.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA standards, rules, and guidelines; conduct research and communicate changes as they occur.
- High school education.
- Minimum of two years in Workers’ Compensation experience.
- Proficient understanding of OSHA standards and guidelines.
- Construction or manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
