Quality Technician

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational training in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Additional technical training in quality assurance or plastics manufacturing is a plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably within the plastics industry.
  • Experience with quality control processes and testing procedures.
  • Understanding of quality systems, data processing, and manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment preferred.
  • Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
  • Experience identifying root causes and resolving quality-related issues.

Job Duties:

  • Perform quality inspections and quality checks across all manufacturing departments.
  • Conduct laboratory and physical testing of film products according to applicable standards.
  • Collect production samples and perform required quality testing procedures.
  • Identify and investigate root causes of quality issues, including customer returns.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality processes, procedures, and test results.
  • Ensure quality documentation is accessible to appropriate personnel.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory supply inventory.
  • Perform housekeeping duties within the laboratory and work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop an understanding of all materials used throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Physical Capabilities:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform inspection activities throughout the shift.
  • Ability to climb stairs and work in temperatures up to 90°F for limited periods.
  • Ability to lift products or materials weighing up to 35 pounds when required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts as needed.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment with accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain visual focus and attention to detail while inspecting products in manufacturing or warehouse environments.
