Senior Commercial & Industrial Door Service Technician

Picture your morning: you review your first assignment on your device, load up your company vehicle, and head out. A retail store needs its automatic entrance tuned and brought to code.

Later, a distribution center is down with a broken spring on a sectional overhead door. You diagnose, repair, test, and document each visit with quality and safety top of mind. Throughout the day, you solve problems, communicate clearly with customers, and take pride in leaving every opening operating flawlessly.

What you will take on Install, service, and troubleshoot commercial and industrial doors, dock equipment, and related hardware using the right tools and methods.

Identify and repair issues with springs, hinges, locks, rollers, operators, and electrical components. Interested in welding? We can train you.

Set up and integrate hardware such as locks, handles, closers, low voltage components, and access control systems.

Verify every installation meets applicable safety requirements and building codes.

Deliver excellent customer service by explaining findings, recommending options, and providing cost effective solutions.

Document work performed, parts used, and outcomes accurately; submit required reports.

Perform thorough quality checks to uphold our unsurpassed workmanship standards.

What you bring4 or more years in the commercial door service trade.

High school diploma or equivalent.

AAADM certification is a plus.

Broad knowledge of door types, brands, and hardware.

Proficient with hand and power tools; skilled at reading a tape measure and doing fractional math for precise installs.

Strong grasp of safety practices and the discipline to follow them.

Comfort with basic computer and mobile apps.

Ability to routinely move 50 lb or more; climb ladders up to 20 feet; kneel for extended periods; and operate power tools safely.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; persuasive when guiding customers toward the right solution.

Problem solving mindset with attention to detail in a fast paced, results driven setting.

Reliable, self motivated, and able to relay information quickly.

Schedule and environment

Full time within our 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday business hours, plus occasional overtime and on call as needed.

Continuous training as you progress with Vortex.

Fast paced, results oriented field work.

Eligible to drive a company vehicle and hold a valid driver license.

Work Conditions:

Must pass Drug test, Background check and Motor Vehicle check

Compensation and incentives

Hourly range: 26.00 to 33.50 per hour, based on experience.

Hiring bonus up to 10,000 available for candidates with commercial or industrial door experience.
