The Senior Associate Director of Admissions will direct student recruitment off-campus, focusing on increasing the diversity of the applicants, the admitted, and the enrolling student population from a specific population. The Senior Associate Director will focus on inclusive admissions practices including but not limited to: targeted recruitment in underserved recruitment markets, pre-college programming, targeted admissions events and fostering student connections with other service units.
The Senior Associate Director will assist in ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment by directing the visitor to activities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience working with diverse college students; excellent communication and collaboration skills to develop and maintain relationships with campus partners; and strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a data driven recruitment plan for the Office of Admissions with emphasis on traditionally underrepresented populations
- Oversee an Office of Undergraduate Admissions team such as Slate or Student Ambassadors
- Lead team responsible for outreach initiatives for traditionally unrepresented students, including targeting first-generation and low-income students
- Suggest and implement new outreach efforts to meet prospective students, including historically under-represented groups
- Train the admissions staff on projects and initiatives related to recruitment of historically under-represented groups
- Supervise the visit experience for historically under-represented groups
- Serve as the liaison to a Campus Partner such as the Office of Financial Aid
- Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective students and families, high school partners and community organizations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years' experience in admissions
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver's license
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree and a minimum of two years' experience in admissions
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Experience with application review and making admissions decisions
- Demonstrated experience developing diversity recruitment strategies
- Experience managing staff (student or professional)
- Experience using document management tools and CRM systems (Slate) for prospect and applicant management
Salary and benefits are dictated by the State College and University Professional Association (SCUPA) Collective Bargaining Agreement. Candidates should apply online.
