Windchill PLM Administrator
Location:
West Chester, PA (Remote) Duration:
Fulltime Salary: 120K-130K/Year
- Platform: PTC Windchill (administration and deployment across multiple environments).
- Operating System:
Linux (service operations, file management, troubleshooting, log review). - CI/CD and Release Tooling:
Jenkins pipelines;
Jira for work items, defects, and release tracking. - Regulated Operations:
Production change controls, release documentation, and operational validation aligned to Med Tech quality and compliance expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform deployment activities requiring full Windchill administrative access, including configuration updates, application lifecycle operations, and environment validation.
- Prepare environments for releases, validate deployment readiness, and perform post-deployment verification activities.
- Participate in Agile scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement) to align deployment work with sprint commitments.
- Manage and execute deployment-related work items, defects, and release tasks in Jira.
- Perform hands-on Linux-based deployment and administration activities, including file management, service operations, and troubleshooting where needed.
- Monitor deployments for issues and take corrective action within defined authority, escalating when appropriate.
- Support rollback execution and production issue resolution related to deployments.
- Ensure compliance with documented deployment methodologies, release controls, and change management standards.
- Maintain and improve deployment documentation, runbooks, and operational checklists.
- Proactively identify deployment risks, inefficiencies, or gaps and recommend improvements.
- Independently execute end-to-end deployments to Dev, QA, and Production following documented change and release controls (including pre-checks, implementation, verification, and evidence capture).
- Demonstrate consistent, repeatable deployment outcomes by reducing avoidable deployment defects through strong validation and checklist discipline.
- Own and improve at least one runbook/operational checklist (clarify steps, add rollback guidance, and align with audit/compliance expectations).
- Establish trusted working rhythm with Scrum/Kanban teams and release stakeholders by providing clear status, risks, and go/no-go readiness updates aligned to sprint and change windows
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, including hands-on Windchill administration and deployment activities.
- 3-5 years of Linux experience.
- Formal training or certifications related to Windchill, Linux, and release management. Strong familiarity with Jenkins and deployment pipelines.
- Experience supporting business critical platforms in regulated environments (Med Tech, healthcare, life sciences, or manufacturing preferred).
- Strong familiarity with monitoring/logging and incident response practices (triage, root cause contribution, and operational handoffs).
- Experience with ITIL-style change management, release governance, and evidence capture in production environments.
- Strong communicator who provides clear status updates and issue reporting.
- Self-sufficient, execution-driven, and comfortable operating with elevated system access.
- Disciplined in following procedures while recognizing when escalation is required.
- Reliable under release deadlines and production change windows.
- Operates with a strong commitment to quality, security, compliance, and operational excellence, aligned with Pharmaceutical Credo values.
- Hands-on scripting/automation to improve deployment reliability and repeatability.
- Exposure to regulated system practices (e.g., validation documentation and audit readiness) within Med Tech, healthcare, life sciences, or manufacturing.
- SAFe/Agile experience supporting multiple distributed teams with release coordination across environments.
