Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Manufacturing | $90,000 to $100,000 | West Chicago

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to take on a broad role with exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, and process improvement in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

• Lead key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve financial performance and reporting.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies.
• Assist with special projects and ERP system enhancements as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting is highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems is a plus.
• CPA or CPA track is a plus, but not required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
