Job Description:
This role offers a range of $110,000 - $127,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.
- Senior Mechanical Engineer will work with the Engineering team to manage facility and manufacturing improvement projects, develop plans, and produce project budgets including ROI calculations.
- Support the maintenance department in troubleshooting building and equipment repairs; conduct testing of new equipment, and modify existing processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with operations management to modify processes and equipment work instructions and train other employees.
- Test and develop new equipment.
- Improve and refine existing equipment.
- Use project management to incorporate design and budgets for projects.
- Maintain a physical and direct functional role with multiple facility Maintenance and Manufacturing groups.
- Assist INX plant maintenance with advanced troubleshooting.
- Provide floor support to troubleshoot process problems using continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques.
- Ensure products and systems comply with applicable codes.
- Report routine activities monthly and keep staff up-to-date on rapidly moving projects.
- Initiate or supply documentation for capital projects using TPM tools within the EEM pillar and the six-step management methodology.
- Support all new equipment and processes with in-house training classes as determined by department and company needs.
- Have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree.
- Have at least 10 years of related industry experience in chemical or process manufacturing industries.
- Be proficient in creating and reading electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings using AutoCAD.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical/motion/hydraulic systems and solve other problems; basic troubleshooting knowledge of electrical systems.
- Understand the basic use of instrumentation devices, programmable controllers and their roles with system operation.
- Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation devices and PLCs and identify the source of problems.
- Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
- Experience in 3D modeling (Solidworks, Fusion 360, Navis Works).
- Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Chemical manufacturing background preferred.
