Pay Rate: $18.50/hr

Shift: 1st shift Production

Position Summary

The Warehouse Assistant / Slitter Operator Assistant supports slitting and warehouse operations by preparing materials, moving inventory, maintaining production flow, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. This position works closely with the Slitter Operator to meet production requirements while adhering to company safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and apply labels for finished rolls.
  • Create cores according to operator specifications and production orders.
  • Prepare work areas with skids and skid flooring to protect finished rolls.
  • Move skids to the slitter area to promote efficient stacking and workflow.
  • Transfer finished rolls from the slitter to skids in an organized and secure pattern.
  • Verify pick lists against roll counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Utilize lift equipment or request assistance when handling heavy rolls.
  • Pull rolls from stock inventory under the direction of the Slitter Operator.
  • Remove scrap materials and transport them to the compactor.
  • Operate a forklift, when certified and authorized, to move skids to the shipping preparation area.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment using dust mops, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment. Basic counting and inventory verification skills. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift during the work shift. Ability to handle and move heavy materials with proper lifting techniques or assistance. Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to machinery noise.
