The Printer Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing equipment to produce high-quality printed products that meet customer specifications. This position ensures efficient production, maintains quality standards, and follows all company safety procedures.
Printer Operator Responsibilities Essential Job Functions- Set up and operate digital and/or large-format printing equipment.
- Review work orders and verify print specifications before production.
- Monitor print quality and make machine adjustments as needed.
- Load paper, vinyl, and other printing materials into equipment.
- Inspect finished products for color accuracy, alignment, and overall quality.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on printing equipment.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major repairs to maintenance.
- Maintain inventory of inks, paper, and printing supplies.
- Complete production records and accurately track job status.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of printing equipment and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and production specifications.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience operating commercial printing equipment.
- Experience with digital, wide-format, or offset printing preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with print management software.
- Ability to consistently meet production deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Excellent attendance and dependability.
- Willingness to work overtime or flexible schedules when needed.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, workplace safety, and customer satisfaction.
