Job SummaryWe are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join the team. Seeking someone who will maintain roto‑molding machines, prioritize daily tasks, and schedule preventive maintenance that will coincide with our monthly safety checklist.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on most electrical, mechanical, and industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and analyze problems on equipment (e.g., control panels, air compressors, ovens, air conditioning units, etc.).
- Perform repairs on most electrical, mechanical, and industrial equipment from pneumatic impact guns to programmable controllers and microprocessors; build and/or remodel equipment for other department areas.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation (e.g., requisitions for equipment, etc.) for department.
- Temporary work assignments may be required and will be assigned at Management discretion.
Knowledge of basic electronics to maintain various types of electrical, industrial, and mechanical equipment (hand tools, air tools, etc.), various phases of maintenance work (plumbing, welding, heating and air conditioning, etc.) and understanding blueprints and schematics is necessary.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent and 3 to 5 years of medium to heavy industrial maintenance (welding, plumbing, 480‑volt electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, repairing programmable controller and microprocessors, etc.) are required.
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Elect‑Mechanical Maintenance is a plus.
Must be able to make objective judgments, analyze problems to determine the best and most efficient methods of solving the problem while achieving the desired results and work under limited supervision.
Physical RequirementsManual skills such as using various tools for repairs (wrenches, hammers, drills, etc.) and a moderate degree of physical effort are needed. This position frequently lifts or moves material weighing between 25 lbs. and 55 lbs.; occasionally lifts or moves material weighing in excess of 55 lbs. in difficult work positions. Fair to somewhat undesirable working conditions; may be exposed to noise, heat, dust, grease, vapors and other elements to the point of being undesirable but not continuously.
This person reports to the Plant Manager and Plant Maintenance Work Leader.
