Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in West Columbia, South Carolina. This is a contract position within the construction industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to vital financial operations. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounts receivable processes, commercial collections, and cash applications.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage accounts receivable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

- Handle commercial collections, maintaining clear communication with clients to resolve outstanding balances.

- Process cash applications efficiently to ensure proper allocation of payments.

- Monitor and reconcile accounts, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.

- Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring billing accuracy and adherence to company policies.

- Maintain comprehensive records of transactions and collections for auditing purposes.

- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding payment statuses.

- Support month-end closing processes by providing accurate accounts receivable data.

- Utilize accounting software to perform tasks and optimize workflow.

- Collaborate with team members to enhance financial operations and improve collection strategies. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable processes, preferably within the construction industry.

- Strong knowledge of commercial collections and cash application procedures.

- Familiarity with billing functions and invoice preparation.

- Proficiency with accounting software and tools.

- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.

- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.

- Ability to analyze account discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.

- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
