Construction Inspector

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is actively seeking Construction Inspectors. Qualified Inspectors will qualify for a $3000 sign‑on bonus.

• Provide daily observation of construction activities and document activities on required reports/forms.
• Review construction materials for contract and specification compliance.
• Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Evaluate structural materials, placement of culverts, and structural operations such as foundation excavation.
• Monitor placement of pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete, and backfill.
• Verifies lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using survey and field engineering equipment.
• Perform accurate calculations and computations.
• Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the project specifications.
• Review contractor submittals for conformance to project documents and specifications.
• Document and immediately report any non‑compliance actions and safety violations to your immediate supervisor.
• Recording Daily Work Reports to include quantities in Site Manager and for American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASTHO) projects.

• Above average math and problem‑solving skills are required.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a current driver’s license with a safe driving record; ICE is a drug‑free workplace.

The following certifications help ensure that CEI technicians comply with SCDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM standards for transportation infrastructure projects. ICE provides training for inspectors to obtain the following certifications and is invested in their professional growth. • HS diploma required or equivalent required.
• Associate or BS in Civil Engineering is a plus.
• A minimum of one year of inspection experience is desired but not required.
• One of the following certifications is preferred but not required:
  • SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician
  • SCDOT Earthwork Drainage & Base Technician
  • SCDOT Concrete Level 1 and Level 2
  • ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician – Grade 1
