Certified Substitute Science Teacher

Job Responsibilities

• Implement and refine district approved curriculum to meet evolving educational needs of students.
• Systematically gather, analyze, and use data to measure student progress, guide instruction, and provide timely feedback.
• Use technology effectively to enhance student learning and manage classroom.
• Maintain a safe, student-centered learning environment that is engaging, respectful, calm, and orderly.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with requirements.
• Complete additional special educational actions and attend meetings as part of student education team.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of a CAEP approved training program or eligibility for SC certification through alternative routes.
• Valid South Carolina teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain one) in the subject area(s) taught.
• Ability to implement appropriate communication modalities and acquire requisite skills.

During the interview process, candidates must provide verification of highest level of education (e.g., copy of BA Degree, high school diploma, college transcripts) and, if applicable, licensure and/or certification (e.g., teacher licensure).
