EP Coord II - Exercise Coord EMD

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, organization, and evaluation of a comprehensive statewide exercise program addressing all hazards.
• Incorporate the principles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) while ensuring compliance with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
• Administer and coordinate exercises for federal, state, local agencies, and volunteer organizations; oversee tracking of state and local exercises and ensure accurate entry into the Homeland Security database.
• Develop and complete detailed After-Action Reviews (AARs) for multi‑hazard exercises.
• Lead and maintain the State’s Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP) to align statewide preparedness goals and objectives; plan and execute the Department of Defense (DoD) and State Emergency Response Team (SERT) Fall Workshops.
• Attend training courses, seminars, and conferences to enhance exercise delivery and program effectiveness.
• Serve in the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or other locations as required during emergencies, exercises, and training events; primary SEOC duties are to serve in the Supply Unit during activations.

• Bachelor’s degree with experience in emergency planning, training, operational response, and/or multi‑agency coordination.
• Minimum of two years of experience in exercise planning, operational response, or joint, interagency and intergovernmental coordination.
• IAEM or S.C. Certified Emergency Manager (or other state equivalent) certification is preferred or will seek to complete within three years.
