Respiratory Therapist

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Primary Care Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team to service our patients in the Columbia area. As a valuable member of our healthcare staff, you will play a crucial role in assisting our licensed Respiratory Therapists in delivering exceptional care to our homebound patients. Respiratory Therapist role performs visits in homes, ALFs, and ILFs. This is a salary-based, full‑time position (Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm) with the opportunity to receive a monthly bonus.

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients suffering from physical injuries or disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the implementation of treatment plans and conducting therapeutic exercises with patients.
• Educating patients on proper techniques for rehabilitation exercises and documenting patient progress.
• Developing individualized treatment plans, instructing and assisting patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Monitoring patients during therapy sessions, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
• Communicating regularly with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Assisting in the implementation of discharge plans, providing patients with instructions for continued care and recommending appropriate follow‑up services.

• Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory program.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
• Physical stamina and dexterity necessary to assist patients with mobility and perform therapeutic activities.

• Prior experience working as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Specialized training or certification in specific areas of therapy.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken by patients in the practice area.
