Job Summary: Serves as the first point of contact for referral sources and potential patients to schedule assessments and/or admissions. Thoroughly assesses and completes the assessment tool for all clients as required by Three Rivers Behavioral Health. Assists clients in being admitted or referred to the service or resource to best address their needs. Documents findings, recommendations, and outcomes. Performs triage, insurance pre‑certification, computer entry, data analysis, and clinical documentation.
The position is Weekend: 11pm - 7:30am.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Effectively and appropriately communicate with coworkers, referral sources, transportation personnel, patients, and their families.
- Respond immediately to crisis situations concerning patients and/or family members; work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic.
- Handle interruptions often and move from one task to another; remain flexible and not easily frustrated by differences of opinion.
- Exercise self‑control in potentially volatile situations, such as verbal or physical confrontation.

Job Requirements:
- Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work OR ADN/BSN and current SC RN license.
- Prior intake, assessment, admission, and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
- Knowledge of hospital admission functions, psychological assessment and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age‑specific growth and development, and crisis and behavior management.
- Understanding of EMTALA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and third‑party payer knowledge preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented and strong computer skills.
- Ability to handle interruptions and transition between tasks; remain flexible and avoid frustration with differing opinions.
- Ability to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
