Quality Associate

Job Summary

The Fabrication job family ensures an environment of continuous improvement exists in the organization’s production processes, operating procedures and workflows to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. Supports manufacturing through use of tools and techniques to ensure product quality and elimination of defects, on time shipment cost reduction.

Medium/Heavy Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Interprets drawings and confers with management to determine quality and reliability standards
• Inspects parts at specified stages in production for dimensional accuracy
• Records inspection data
• Assists with gauge cleaning and calibration
• Recommends modifications of existing quality and production standards to achieve optimum capability
• Works with QC team leader to resolve deficiencies in quality process
• Must present information and respond to questions from customers and general public
• Read and analyze professional journals, technical and governmental regulations
• Write reports and procedure manuals
• Maintain clean orderly work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Must be able to understand potential problems
• Must be able to work from written or verbal instructions
• 5 years in Quality related field is preferred
• Manual dexterity:
  Normal range of dexterity to operate computer workstations and manually manipulate parts and tools
• Talking:
  Especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Average hearing:
  Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
• Average visual abilities:
  Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery
• Physical strength:
  Must be able to lift 25–50 lbs. on a frequent basis
