Medical Critical Care NP or PA
Location: Marrero, LA.
Position Type: Full-time – Nights, 12‑hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotation.
- Perform assessment of complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients for urgent and emergent conditions.
- Analyze patient data to detect physiological instability and formulate a plan of care.
- Execute therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems as outlined in the Scope of Practice and credentialing/privileging process.
- Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost‑benefits of therapeutic interventions.
- Manage the plan of care through ongoing evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy.
- Optimize patient outcomes and incorporate health promotion, protection, and injury prevention measures.
- Facilitate patient transitions between and within health care settings.
- Serve as an educational resource to patients/families, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary provider teams.
- Consult with multidisciplinary health care team members.
- Participate in scholarly activities, research, and professional development, maintaining required competencies and pursuing educational offerings.
- Act as a preceptor and mentor to support development of nurses, APPs, students, and other health care providers.
- Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by speaking up, sharing errors, and engaging in system reporting mechanisms.
- Master’s degree from an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program – required.
- Licenses:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association;
Nurse Practitioner Certification or Physician Assistant Certification;
Registered Nursing License (RN) from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing;
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant (PA) from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. - Work shift:
Nights.
