Job Summary

Develops collaborative relationships with area colleges of nursing and other health science programs. Coordinates and ensures the effective management of health science and colleges of nursing students' clinical experiences. Recruits and retains qualified and effective RN instructors and Clinical Instructors. Facilitates the design of meaningful clinical experiences appropriate to the educational level of the student, including appropriate placements with qualified instructors and preceptors working with LMC leaders.

Actively participates in the ongoing growth and development of partnered College of Nursing programs and other local nursing colleges through participation in Advisory Board and other meeting forums. Coordinates community patient educational programs ensuring that qualified instructors and appropriate educational content is continuously evaluated and revised as changes in clinical content, patient or provider feedback indicates.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing
Minimum Years of

Experience:

5 Years of Experience in Nursing (At Least 2 Years in a Leadership Position/Capacity)
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Currently Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing;
Current certification in Healthcare Provider CPR.
Required Training: None.

Essential Functions
  • Ensures that classes and clinical experiences offered are of high quality content delivered by qualified and proficient Clinical instructors. Ensures adherence of all instructors and students toLMC and partnered of Nursing Programs' patient care philosophy, standards of care and practice, policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborates with partnered Colleges' faculty to design clinical experiences with objectives thatare aligned with the lecture and are appropriate to the preparation of the student.
  • In collaboration with colleges of nursing leaders and LMC instructors, ensures that clinical students understand and demonstrate compliance with LMC service excellence, policies and procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintains job descriptions appropriate for the nursing and health science student, RN and Clinical instructor.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of program content of all classes and clinical experiences offered.
  • Assesses the performance of Clinical instructors and collaboratively develops action plans and monitors progress as indicated.
  • Ensures development of community class content based on current literature and best practices.
  • Sets and manages goals, objectives and educational activities that are congruent with the partnered College Nursing Programs and LMC's mission, vision and values.
