Veterinary Assistant

Animal Medical Center is hiring a Full-time or Part-time veterinary assistant to join our exceptional team in Beaufort, SC. After 30 years of caring for our community’s pets, we’ve expanded to include a second location only 20 minutes away to provide even more compassionate, state-of-the-art pet care and services. Comprehensive veterinary care services, including preventive, diagnostic, surgical, and dental services, as well as pain management, on-site dog training, pet chiropractic, acupuncture, and boarding. Our facility includes digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, ultrasound, and laser therapy.

The ideal candidate’s strengths and skills:

• Excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and exceptional veterinary care
• Computer skills - email, google drive, Ezy Vet Veterinary software
• Organization - helping keep all areas of the hospital tidy, clean, stocked, and organized, cleaning as needed
• Works well with a team as well as independently
• Ability to effectively multi-task - prioritize based on client, patient, and practice needs
• Adaptable - able to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities
• Fast learner with strong attention to detail
• Reliable and self-motivated

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Perform safe and gentle restraint for examinations by a veterinarian
• Perform laboratory sample preparation for in-house machine analyses on urine and blood
• Administer vaccines and medications
• Communicate with and educate clients
• Pitch in where needed to provide top-notch care
• Filling prescriptions
• Daily call-backs
• Billing out clients
• Able to lift daily up to 50lbs
