As a Security Officer – Lobby Entry Control in West Columbia, SC
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and communications location where you will manage access control, greet visitors, verify credentials, and monitor entry points to help reduce unauthorized access. You will respond to security-related concerns, support incident documentation, and communicate clearly with onsite teams while remaining visible and professional.

- Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Control access to the location by checking credentials, managing visitor registration, issuing temporary badges as required, and directing guests and deliveries to approved areas.
- Monitor entry and exit points using access control systems and security-related technology, documenting unusual activity and reporting concerns through established channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and supporting first responders as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking and perimeter zones, to help deter unauthorized access and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
