We are looking for a reliable and talented Airport Facilities Maintenance Technician to handle the upkeep, repair, and daily operation of our airport buildings and mechanical systems. The successful applicant will possess a diverse background in facility care and demonstrate the ability to diagnose issues and execute repairs, whether working solo or collaborating with our broader maintenance group.

We are looking for a reliable and talented Airport Facilities Maintenance Technician to handle the upkeep, repair, and daily operation of our airport buildings and mechanical systems. The successful applicant will possess a diverse background in facility care and demonstrate the ability to diagnose issues and execute repairs, whether working solo or collaborating with our broader maintenance group.

Primary Duties
  • Execute skilled and semi-skilled repairs, installations, and preventative upkeep across all airport infrastructure.
  • Help ensure building longevity by performing carpentry tasks on doors, walls, ceilings, and cabinetry.
  • Manage work orders by documenting all completed repairs, inspections, and materials to keep our records accurate.
  • Carry out regular facility walkthroughs to identify and troubleshoot potential system failures.
  • Support the electrical infrastructure by maintaining lighting, fixtures, and wiring systems.
  • Ensure seamless passenger travel by performing maintenance on boarding bridges, bag lifts, and specialized PLC-controlled airport equipment.
  • Maintain the functionality of commercial and pedestrian door hardware and entry systems.
  • Address plumbing issues, including fixtures, piping, and water coolers, to keep facilities operational.
  • Utilize camera equipment to clear drain lines and inspect plumbing systems.
  • Support the HVAC team by assisting with inspections, filter replacements, and general repairs.
  • Ensure power reliability by performing maintenance on mechanical equipment and emergency generators.
  • Collaborate with various trade specialists to complete major projects and respond to emergency site needs.
  • Safely operate and maintain all company vehicles, machinery, and specialized tools.
  • Promote a safer environment by reporting accidents, hazards, and equipment malfunctions to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Organize and manage the inventory of parts and supplies needed for daily maintenance tasks.
  • Support 24-hour operations by participating in the departmental on-call rotation schedule.
  • Provide after-hours support to resolve urgent maintenance issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly adhering to all safety protocols and building codes.
  • Assist in emergency storm response and snow removal operations using specialized equipment.
  • Complete additional tasks as required by management.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven background in building maintenance or a relevant skilled trade.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repair.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix complex facility equipment issues.
  • Capacity to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as a team member.
  • Strong organizational habits and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in the safe operation of heavy machinery, lifts, and maintenance tools.
  • Readiness to provide support during emergency maintenance situations.
  • Flexibility to support the facility through after-hours and on-call availability.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance with all electrical and building regulations.
