Job Summary

The flooring technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring materials in residential or commercial settings. Their duties may include measuring and preparing the installation area, removing old flooring, leveling the subfloor, and cutting and fitting the flooring materials. They may also be responsible for applying adhesives, nailing or stapling the flooring, and ensuring proper alignment and finishing.

Essentials

Duties and Responsibilities Assist Field Team
  • Complete assigned service tickets as scheduled
Service
  • Report any issues or delays to the Warranty Team
Quality
  • Aid in monitoring job quality while completing services
  • Address quality concerns and report issues to the Warranty Management team
Job Readiness
  • Ensure materials are available to complete tasks, including but not limited to screws, caulk, stock materiel, saw, drill, batteries, and tools. Transition installations/replacement, minor tile replacement/ installation, grout touchups/ maintenance, caulking, cut/tuck/stretch/seam carpet, patch linoleum, hard surface plank replacement/repair
  • Tools to be familiar with: wet saw, angle grinder, power stretcher, knee kicker, tape measure, hammer, rubber mallet, chop saw, electric staple gun, straight edge
  • Familiar concepts: thin set/ grout applications, carpet installation, trowels, appropriate glue selections/applications

Requirements
  • Cultivate and support positive professional relationships with business partners and homeowners
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of different flooring materials and installation techniques
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Stay updated with industry standards and safety regulations
Physical Demands
  • This position may require heavy lifting up to 30 pounds, exposure to temperature extremes, prolonged standing, or travel. Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time; to reach with hands and arms; to move from project to project; to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch; to see well enough to discern differences in quality work.
