Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented Adult Residential Facility Behavioral Direct Support Professional (BDSP II) to provide hands‑on behavioral and residential support to adults with developmental disabilities. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured living environment while implementing individualized behavior and service plans in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required (additional education in human services, psychology, or related fields preferred)
  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Prior experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Experience working with individuals who exhibit behavioral challenges in residential or community settings preferred
  • Basic understanding of person‑centered practices, IPPs, ISPs, and behavioral support strategies
  • Ability to follow clinical guidance, written plans, and regulatory requirements consistently
Certifications & Requirements
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (must remain current)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification (or ability to complete upon hire)
  • DSP I and DSP II certification (or ability to complete within required timeframe)
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training (certification pathway supported)
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance
  • TB clearance and required health screenings
  • Completion of all mandated trainings per Title 17, Title 22, DDS, and CCL requirements
Key Responsibilities Direct Behavioral & Residential Support
  • Provide direct, hands‑on behavioral and residential support to assigned residents
  • Implement Individual Program Plans (IPPs), Individual Service Plans (ISPs), and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) under clinical supervision
  • Support residents with communication, emotional regulation, social skills, daily routines, and community participation
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and mealtime routines
  • Promote dignity, autonomy, choice, and safety in all interactions
Program Support & Community Integration
  • Assist with planning and facilitating residential and community‑based activities aligned with resident goals
  • Support community outings, appointments, and off‑site activities as scheduled
  • Create and use visual supports, program materials, and structured activities
  • Engage equitably with all assigned residents without avoidance or preference‑based selection
Documentation & Data Collection
  • Complete daily notes, logs, behavioral data, and service documentation accurately and on time
  • Document incidents and special incidents as required by policy and regulation
  • Ensure documentation is audit‑ready and compliant with Title 17/22 and DDS standards
  • Use company‑approved systems (e.g., Google Workspace) for documentation and communication
Professional Conduct & Resident Rights
  • Uphold resident rights, including privacy, informed consent, and freedom from abuse or neglect
  • Use person‑first, respectful, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive communication
  • Maintain professional boundaries and ethical conduct at all times
  • Report safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, and significant behavioral changes immediately
  • Comply with mandatory reporter laws and organizational policies
Communication & Team Collaboration
  • Participate in staff meetings, shift handoffs, supervision, and required trainings
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors and team members
  • Follow escalation protocols for safety, behavioral, or regulatory concerns
