Infusion RN - Cancer Center - Per Diem QVH

Job Summary

Provides assessment and nursing intervention in all areas of Infusion Therapy when requested by physicians and/or clinical trial protocols in the outpatient setting. Performs the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of safe, therapeutic, efficient, and quality care for patients consistent with the unit’s standard of care. This includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IV therapy, and blood transfusions.

• Perform infusion therapies via intravenous, subcutaneous, and injection methods.
• Demonstrate competency in accessing porta-caths and PICC lines, as well as peripheral venous access.
• Implement patient-specific treatment plans ordered by physicians.
• Coordinate case management and care across all cancer care providers and the continuum of care.
• Provide education, resources, and support to patients and families to meet biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care, and educational needs.
• Advocate for patients within the care team.
• Contribute to the educational process for patients, staff, and self.
• Promote clinical effectiveness, efficient use of resources, and quality care in the practice setting.

• BSN preferred; minimum education requirement is a BSN.
• Minimum two years of chemotherapy administration experience as an outpatient infusion RN in a clinic, physician office, or hospital setting;
  Oncology Ambulatory Infusion Center experience preferred.
• Current California RN license; BLS and ACLS required.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card required; OCN certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, customer service, and service recovery skills.
• Ongoing education of 12 cancer‑related continuing nursing education hours annually.

$72.36 - $72.36 per hour.
